Kevin Lomas and Stephen Porritt provide an excellent review of the overheating problems in UK homes. Reference to their paper can be found at http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/09613218.2017.1256136 and it covers the effects of overheating from the South of England to the North of Scotland. The paper is published in Building Research & Information and goes a long way to dispel the view that the UK doesn’t have an overheating problem. It reviews twelve published papers on overheating and concludes that the problem will become progressively more serious unless there is active intervention. Achieving agreement on what constitutes overheating, how it can be measured etc. are still problems that need to be resolved.
